Moissanite is an ethical gemstone, free from the problems that have plagued the jewelry industry (conflict funding, poor working conditions, environmental destruction, etc.). Moissanite is also more environmentally friendly, as it is carefully manufactured in a laboratory and emits much less carbon dioxide than diamonds.

Compared to diamonds of the same size, moissanite is significantly less expensive. You can get the center stone of your dreams without sacrificing size, clarity, cut, or color. This allows more people to enjoy jewelry and makes it easier to enjoy larger stones.

Moissanite is extremely rugged and durable and is also resistant to scratches, abrasion, chipping, and breakage. In terms of toughness, it is superior to diamond with a Mohs hardness rating of 9.2 out of 10. This indicates that its surface is not easily scratched, chipped, broken, or cracked.

Moissanite is truly the world's most luminous gemstone. It boasts a fire value 2.5 times that of diamonds, making it more radiant than diamonds. Its refractive index is as high as 2.69, making it more brilliant than the 2.41 of a typical diamond. Furthermore, moissanite boasts a surface luster index of 20.40%, higher than that of diamonds at 17.20%. This means that moissanite has a higher luster than diamonds.

We are able to provide a stable supply of beautiful stones of high quality because moissanite is made in our lab. Therefore, large stones can be offered at reasonable prices.
At present, there is no international evaluation standard for moissanite, but all moissanite used by MIYAMA is only moissanite with an Excellent cut within the colorless (DEF) range of the 4C standard for diamonds.

Silicon carbide, the constituent material of moissanite, is extremely chemically stable and has excellent heat resistance. While diamond has a heat resistance of approximately 800°C, moissanite has a heat resistance of up to approximately 1800°C.

Diamonds are lipophilic, so their brilliance is often clouded by cosmetic issues and various daily oil stains, requiring that they often be cleaned and maintained. Moissanite, however, is resistant to oil and grease, so its brilliance lasts longer. 

A wide variety of shapes are available: round, emerald, heart, oval, pear, square, and cushion. In addition to colorless diamonds, we also have a lineup of fancy colored (pink, yellow, etc.) moissanite. They are also popular as a new alternative to the very expensive natural fancy color diamonds.
